LA Film Festival director quits
The festival director of Film Independent’s Los Angeles Film Festival, Rich Raddon, has resigned.
Raddon resigned from the post he has held since 2000 following criticism for donating $1500 to a campaign supporting the California Proposition 8, a ballot proposition banning same sex couples from marrying.
He did not address the criticism in his statement, but apologized for the “negative attention that my actions have drawn to Film Independent and for the hurt and pain that is being experienced in the GLBT community.”
The next LA Film Festival is held every June. The next event will be held on 18-28 June, 2009.
