Director Radford speaks on impact of credit crunch on movie industry
Director Michael Radford has spoken about the effect of the global financial crisis on the movie industry.
Radford says his current movie project has been postponed until pre-production can be funded.
“The film industry is being affected really, really badly. I am supposed to be making a film in Spain at the moment, and on 10 November all Spanish banks ceased their cash flow for movies.
“It’s stopped us in our tracks. I’m waiting to find if there’s another way of getting money for pre-production that’s not from the banks.
Radford’s film Flawless, which stars Demi Moore and Michael Caine, had its London premiere earlier this week.
