Charlize Theron gets United Nations role
Charlize Theron has been appointed as a United Nations messenger of peace, a UN spokesperson has announced.
The Oscar-winning actress, who was born in South Africa, will be involved with the UN’s work in fighting violence against women around the world.
The actress founded the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project to educate poor children and their families about HIV/AIDS.
Theron was officially induced at the UN headquarters on Monday.
